Anson Rooms

Based at the University of Bristol is the iconic gig venue for the whole city, not just the students

  • Music
  • Comedy

For over half a decade, music, discussion and laughter has pounded through the halls of one of Bristol’s largest gig venues. The Anson Rooms frequently hosts some of Britain’s (and the world’s) best-loved artists and comedians, alongside regular open mic nights and film-screenings.

The Anson Rooms is housed in the Richmond Building, also home to University of Bristol’s Department of Film and Television, Bristol Students’ Union, a cafe and swimming pool. The Balloon Bar cafe offers some of the best priced food in Clifton with daily deals such as the Midweek Markdown and Tapas Thursday.

Did you know?

One of Bristol's best-loved venues has hosted legendary star names such as David Bowie, The Smiths, Radiohead, Fleetwood Mac, Amy Winehouse and Ed Sheeran.
