“Bring an open mind and prepare to be engaged: Bath Film Festival is not somewhere you go to be neutral, it’s somewhere you go to participate”, says Ken Loach, a FilmBath patron.
An oasis of cultural calm before Christmas comes to town, FilmBath Festival screens the best new and upcoming films from around the world with a stimulating and eclectic programme of films, workshops and talks.
The Bath Film Festival began life in 1990, building on its success to evolve into FilmBath in 2017.
This new organisation runs not only the annual film festival, but also champions women in film by highlighting films with a Fairtrade-style ‘F-Rating’ stamp, runs the IMDb Awards supporting and rewarding emerging talent, offers young people the opportunity to write music for film with their FilmScore scheme, as well as offering a year round series of pop-up screenings in and around Bath.
