Bristol Festival of Literature offers ten days of free, affordable and ticketed literary events throughout Bristol. Whether you’re a writer, reader or simply intrigued, Bristol’s community of creative writers and visiting bestselling authors will make you fall in love with reading all over again.
The inaugural Bristol Festival of Literature (BFL) took place in October 2011, initiated by Jari Moate, with the aim of seeing literature presented across the city in fresh, exciting and meaningful ways. Today, the festival is managed by a talented group of volunteers including writers, publishers, readers and editors, offering the unique grassroots feel Bristol is renowned for. It never stands still and brings new shapes, ideas and surprises every year.
This year's festival runs from 19-27 October 2019.
