Bristol Pride is the annual celebration of the city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) community and one of the most colourful events of the year. The not-for-profit fortnight-long festival is organised by members of the LGBT+ community and features theatre, comedy nights, parties, art exhibitions, gaming events and quizzes.
The festival culminates in Pride Day's rainbow-coloured march through the city centre, and headlining musical acts on The Downs (the festival's new venue for 2019).
Although the headline-grabbing part of the festival is the July weekend, the Pride team work all year round to challenge homophobia and promote equality and diversity through school visits, consultation services and lobbying. Pride’s year-round programme includes comedy, theatre, dance and an award-winning film festival.
