Circomedia is a unique space dedicated to developing and showcasing contemporary circus and physical theatre. It is the only place in the UK to run a BTEC extended diploma - not to mention a full-time degree - in this field, where dedicated students can hone circus disciplines including aerial, acrobatics and juggling.
Bristol is the place to come and discover the wonderful, innovative and whacky world of circus and performative theatre. The city recently hosted ‘Circus 250’ - the celebration of 250 years of circus in the UK.
There are also evening classes for adults, (even complete novices) and youngsters are looked after with drop-in family sessions.
The 'wedding cake church' (so-called for the way it looks) in St Pauls is two minutes walk away from the shopping area of Bristol Shopping Quarter and 5 minutes away from the vibrant cafes and bars of Stokes Croft.
Did you know?
Although St Paul's Church is now home to the circus school Circomedia, it is still a consecrated space. It still has the original ornate Georgian plaster ceiling, stone columns and a wealth of decorative stained glass, but has now also been equipped with aerial and trapeze equipment.
