Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is an impressive Grade II* Listed building which houses a wonderful mix of arts, natural sciences, archaeology and world cultures from thousands of years ago, to the present day.

The Museum's permanent collection includes jaw-dropping examples of curiosities - expect to see Ancient Egyptian and Roman remains next to Victorian taxidermy, dinosaur bones and even an ornate gypsy caravan!

Explore Old Master paintings, contemporary works (including a couple from Banksy himself!) as well as impressive ceramic and glassware.

The Museum also hosts a dynamic exhibitions and events programme throughout the year - check their website to see the latest.

Did you know?

Enterprising undergraduates in the 1950s once ‘borrowed’ the much loved Bristol icon Alfred the Gorilla from his case as part of a Rag Week stunt, returning him unharmed after a couple of days none the worse for his adventure.
