Artists, musicians and performers congregate here to share their art with the wider community. From regular art exhibitions in the Gallery, to dance and circus workshops, and club nights at the Lockdown, the Island brings together the best of Bristol’s creative scene in an energetic mish-mash of events.
Based in the old police headquarters, ‘the Old Bridewell’, as it’s known, offers a unique setting for some unique goings-on. Don’t miss the opportunity to check out the music studios in the original 20th century police cells below.
The Island sits next door to the well-loved community cafe, The Station, and is a short walk to many of the city’s other cultural attractions including the Watershed (10 minutes) and the Arnolfini (15 minutes).
