One of Bristol’s best kept secrets, the upstairs of the Louisiana – affectionately known as The Louis - has retained its local, intimate feel for over quarter of a century.
Started by accident in 1996, when a fire in a nearby popular music venue meant a desperate plea from local promoters for new gig space, the Louisiana became, in the space of a week, one of the most sought-after venues in the city. In its first week, the Louisiana hosted both Placebo and Super Furry Animals – and that was before the venue even had a stage.
25 years later, the Louisiana retains its position as one of the favourite music venues in town, regularly hosting some of the world’s best-known musicians – Geogre Esra, Coldplay and Muse have all played here.
