Tobacco Factory Theatres

Injecting energy, dynamism and above all, excellent theatre, to South Bristol since 1998

  • Comedy
  • Theatre

Located in one of the remaining Tobacco Factories in the city, the theatre is located on the 2nd floor of this creative hub and is an ambitious, energetic performance venue.

'We started as an experiment and we encourage experimentation' are one of they core beliefs of this organisation and it is clear that they support and nurture new ways of devising and showcasing. The programme is diverse and includes classic and contemporary theatre, comedy, dance, puppetry, film, opera, music and family shows.

Did you know?

Occupied by Imperial Tobacco until the 1970s, the factory was saved from demolition in 1993 by a local architect (and ex-Mayor of the city) George Ferguson, to be transformed into a hub for the area’s flourishing independent business community. Original features from the old factory can still be seen, including the tiled floor in the Factory Theatre.
